Pierrot

Pierrot is the first character I've adopted to create a. series of drawings and sculptures of. The character of Pierrot dates back to the Renaissance when traveling actor troupes roamed the European landscapes. He is usually the youngest member of the group and the target of the Harlequin's ridicule. Pierrot is in love with the main actress who is usually enamored with the Harlequin, and the love triangle is the topic of a lot of plays that the troupe performs.

I fell in love with Pierrot because I felt like I could really relate to his position in his family. The series of drawing depict what I imagined his daily life would be like on and off stage.

Most drawings are ink drawings. The sculpture is ceramic.
